Tick Control Application in Fairfield, CT

At Shannon Lawn & Landscaping, we recently completed a tick control treatment in Fairfield, Connecticut, helping a family protect their lawn, pets, and outdoor spaces from tick activity. Because the property bordered wooded areas and shaded garden beds—ideal conditions for ticks—our team applied a full-property treatment to ensure long-lasting protection.

We proudly offer homeowners across Fairfield County and New Haven County two effective options for keeping their yards tick-free:

Standard Tick Control Program

• 5 applications spaced about 35–45 days apart
• Kills ticks on contact and continues to protect through the life of the application
• Uses a pyrethroid, a synthetic version of the natural compound found in chrysanthemum flowers

Organic Tick Control Program

• 6 sprays done 25–30 days apart
• Kills on contact, then works as a repellent to prevent ticks from entering treated areas
• Powered by cedarwood oil, a natural essential oil derived from conifers

Both programs are safe for people and pets once dry (usually within an hour) and cover turf, planting beds, and rock walls to create a complete protective barrier. While both treatments can help reduce mosquito presence, our process is specifically designed for tick control, not mosquito spraying.

We always maintain buffers near wetlands and waterways to protect aquatic life and comply with Connecticut state regulations. After each service, yellow pesticide signs are placed at property entry points and remain for 24 hours as required by law.

For best results, we recommend completing the full seasonal program, which significantly reduces tick populations and keeps your property protected all year long.
