This patio-side planting project in Monroe, CT transformed an underutilized space into a lush, organized, and low-maintenance backyard retreat. To prepare the site, we carefully removed the existing turf and excavated the area to establish clean, professional planting beds. Compost and planting mix were incorporated into the native soil to enrich it with organic matter and improve drainage and nutrient retention—crucial for long-term plant health and root development.
A carefully curated selection of plants was installed based on site conditions and homeowner preferences. Once planted, each specimen was fertilized to promote strong establishment and encourage robust growth during the first season. The final step in this landscape enhancement was applying a rich, dark brown mulch throughout the beds.
